Étienne Martin is a Montreal-based visual artist renowned for his vibrant, eclectic works that are deeply rooted in Quebec culture. A self-taught artist born in Sainte-Adèle in 1977, he draws his inspiration from masters such as Picasso, Modigliani, Van Gogh and Basquiat, while developing a highly personal approach.
His creations, marked by vivid colors and collage techniques, exude a raw energy that immediately captures the eye. Étienne is particularly well known for his depictions of Montreal architecture, highlighted by a stained-glass-like technique of multicolored rectangles. This unique visual signature evokes both the city’s religious heritage and its urban evolution.
